>> two deadly explosions rocked baghdad. more than 100 people died in the blast that went off just minutes apart. it blew up outside the justice miniry in downtown baghdad. >> there is some very dramatic video that was caught by a self on camera. already the obama administration has condemned this attack, the president calling it outrageous and saying the attacks revealed the hateful and destructive agenda of those who would deny the iraqi people the future they deserve. >> chaos on the streets of baghdad as a massive car bomb explodes just seconds after another car bomb went off in the iraqi capital. alarms rang out after the two blasts hit the justice ministry and the city governor's office. at least 100 per 47 people are dead, more than 700 wounded.

this justice ministry employee says after the blast, i saw a dead girls at employees on the floor. the bombs went off at one of the busiest parts of the day in the heart of the city's administrative district. the destruction was immense. hours later, rescue workers were still sifting through the rubble, searching for survivors and recovering bodies. >> it was a terrible tragedy. the majority of the people are opposed to them, and the iraqi military will be able to handle this transition, but it will not be without tragedies. >> we just have to hope that the iraqi government and military and police forces can ultimately gain enough control that these incidents will be very rare. >> this iraqi officials as the government must now reconsider the security plan for baghdad after the deadliest attack in over two years. >> the death toll is expected to

rise. three american contractors are said to be among the wounded. the country wants all u.s. combat troops out by august, with a full withdrawal by 2012. health offic tracking the swine flu said the illness is now widespread in 46 states. the president has declared the outbreak of national emergency. it is being described as a proactive move to deal with future cases. the white house clears the way to allow health officials to waive regulations that might hinder providers. >> that will be able to set up satellite clinics without having to go through a lot of federal paperwork. >> today the senate republican leader says that if the administration asked for more help to battle the swine flu, they will be happy to provide it.

demonstrators take a stand today against the marriage. -- against gay marriage. >> a very vocal group here. this is just a taste of what is to come as the d.c. council considers the issue of same-sex marriage. we are told that 267 people will be testifying on the very first day. >> this gathering at freedom plaza, a pep rally of sorts. >> for years and years, we have known marriage to be between men and women. >> proponents of same-sex marriage meeting just across the street from the wilson building. >> those who advocate same-sex marriage say they are being excluded from having a marriage license. >> monday that began marathon hearings on legalizing same-sex marriage.

d.c. currently recognizes same- sex marriages performed in other states. >> there should not be different categories for a geographical residents of another district. >> they said the debate will not stop here. >> a father and son or mother and daughter could come forward and say we want to be married. >> i think everyone should have the right to be married. we are a progressive city, and we should be leading the way on that. >> instead of a council vote, opponents are calling for a referendum in 2010. if they lose the council vote, there will be an ensuing legal battle that will take place in the courts. >> this may end up as a legal battle, but first there are those council meetings. the first one tomorrow, 100 people slated to talk before the council. proponents are vowing to pass

>> firefighters have their hands full with a large wild flyer in california. a large wild fire is threatening dozens of homes. hundreds of people have been evacuated. the cause of the fire is still not known. it is in the area where a fire destroyed 29 homes last year. it is a different ory in philadelphia. more than an inch of rain fell in the city. some streets and underpasses were flooded, forcing cars to drive for a massive puddles of water. >> why you should definitely heed the warning when a flash flood warning is issued, and you should not run through standing water like that.

it was so nice outside today. take a look at what it looked like earlier this morning before the sun came up. a beautiful sunrise, a few high clouds, and then crystal clear skies. looking down pennsylvania avenue, where it is dry, cool, and comfortable. we look for a cold evening ahead, as temperatures will eventually fall into the 30's. 57 degrees after a high of 61. has cooled down to 51 in arlington. the official lie at reagan national, 53, just a couple of degrees below average. the record was set in 1902. temperatures are slowly cooling. it will drop eventually into the 30's and 40's.

cooler temperatures courtesy of a large area of high pressure. that will influence the weather not only tonight but for the day tomorrow. changes are on the way. we have a storm system of to the west that will eventually move in our direction, right now affecting oklahoma. this will arrive just to the north and west, and we could pick up and enter to a brain by tuesday afternoon into tuesday night. high pressure builds once again for the day on thursday. tomorrow, looking nice. winds at 5-10 miles per hour, still lots of sunshine. the story begins to take shape of to the west of us. clouds will increase tomorrow night. the color changes passed before allegheny and western garrett county. in another week or two, it will look absolutely beautiful out there.
